Here's how to keep braids from unraveling when cut:

  1. Wrap a piece of thread around the end of the braid 3 times, leaving a small gap between the whip thread and the braid knot. Tie the thread tightly with a square knot.
  2. Cut the braid close to the whip.
  3. Glue on the end cap so it covers the whip thread.
