A Bead Dream Come True by Shanna Steele
Hi there everybody! My name is Shanna Steele and I have worked for Auntie's Beads for the better part of a dozen years now. I spent the most amount of time working in the design department with Karla (who many of you know as Karla Kam), but I have done a lot of work behind the scenes in purchasing and product management as well. I enjoy this line of work so much, it doesn't matter if I am buying the beads or counting them or playing in them... I will take them however I can get them!
About ten years ago, I had my first piece published in Beadwork magazine. It was a woven ring featuring Swarovski crystal twist beads and size 8/0 Miyuki seed beads.
Since then, I have had close to two dozen projects featured in various magazines - Beadwork is my favorite - but I had never had a project featured on the cover. UNTIL NOW!!!
The August/September 2017 issue of Beadwork magazine is on the stands now and...drum roll, please... it features my Tucson Vista necklace and instructions for creating a matching bracelet as well. There aren't words to describe how proud I am and how surreal it feels to see my work out there like this!
If you want to check out the piece, get a physical copy of the magazine here; if you don't want to wait for the magazine to arrive, get a downloadable copy right now.
All of the materials used were purchased right here at Auntie's Beads Direct and they are as follows:
- 1 x 14mm Swarovski Rivoli in Golden Shadow
- 6 x 12mm Swarovski Rivoli in Golden Shadow

- Crystal Bronze Fire SuperDuos
- Crystal Bronze Gold SuperDuos

I have already received feedback and pictures from people who have created their own necklaces and/or bracelets. I would love to see what kind of variations and color combinations you guys come up with, so feel free to comment and post a pic in your response.
Happy beading everyone!
